FOP speedy nominations[edit]

FOP cases are not subject to speedy deletion. Please stop doing so and use regular deletion request procedure. Regards, Sealle (talk) 16:24, 9 July 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Sealle: Ok, point taken. I just thought that without FoP, any (photographic) reproduction of such subjects are illegal derivatives of copyrighted works, in other words copyright violation. No? --HyperGaruda (talk) 16:27, 9 July 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Speedy is just for clear copyvio cases, FOP issues require discussion. Sealle (talk) 16:40, 9 July 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]

A Barnstar For You![edit]

The Original Barnstar
For your clarification in Commons talk:Currency#Venezuela!廣九直通車 (talk) 13:20, 19 May 2018 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Thanks for the removal.[edit]

You sound like an awesome guy, thank for the removal of my contribution. Its states "Currency" right? So I've added what was related to Currency, but I guess it is irrelevant to you. Ohh, maybe because of the link I've added Currency Converter. I guess some people are but butthurt about this.

On another note, you should check the grammar and spelling for that page rather focusing on irrelevancy. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Azlocal (talk • contribs) 11:22, 9 March 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Azlocal: Please take a very good look at where you are contributing. This talk page, as well as COM:Currency are located at "Wikimedia Commons" (check the logo in the top left), which is a website functioning as an image library for Wikipedia. If you want to contribute information, I suggest you go to "Wikipedia". The page you are looking for over there would be en:Currency. --HyperGaruda (talk) 15:19, 9 March 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]

archiving bot[edit]

Hi, thank you for fixing the auto-archive feature here: File talk:BlankMap-World.svg. There is a left-over issue though: a lot of older topics didn't get archived after the bot ran following your fix – my guess is it's because of some mixed up or altogether-missing dates on the topics. Do you know how to force them to be archived by the bot? Or manually? All of them are old, so it's safe to archive them. Ideally, they should be archived while preserving the original order of the topics on the Talk page (instead of these now being added to the bottom of the archive). Thanks! Cherkash (talk) 20:57, 23 March 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Cherkash: you're welcome. I have fixed/added timestamps to all relevant posts. ArchiverBot should be able to take care of them in the next round of archiving, which is at around 08:00 UTC. If I am not mistaken, the bot maintains a chronological order in the archives, so you should not have to worry about that. --HyperGaruda (talk) 06:26, 24 March 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
These old posts still haven't been archived. I wonder if there's something else going on with the bot's setup that it's not picking them up for archiving? Cherkash (talk) 15:15, 1 April 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
It's now been 30+ days (you've done your magic on 2 April) – and the old threads haven't been archived still. Do you know how else to force them to? Cherkash (talk) 23:41, 3 May 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Cherkash: Seems like a few were archived a bit later, but I have no clue why the other ones I tagged at the same time are still there. You're probably better off asking this at the bot's talk page. --HyperGaruda (talk) 02:48, 25 May 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Provincial flags of Indonesia[edit]

Hello @HyperGaruda: Please stop adding tag {{Fictitious flag}}, for more information about government regulations see C:File:Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 77 Tahun 2007.pdf (Check Pasal 2 and Pasal 6). Cheers OktaRama2010 (talk) 10:58, 3 May 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hi. Do you know which iwan is this? Hanooz 09:09, 6 October 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Hanooz: looks like the Category:Southern iwan of Vakil Mosque to me. The northern iwan does not have a gateway. --HyperGaruda (talk) 06:20, 12 October 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thank you. Hanooz 10:59, 12 October 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks![edit]

Hello,

Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at Wikimedia Commons.

I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!

From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.

If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.

Thank you!

Bundesautobahn 38[edit]

I've moved your issue from the village pump to Category_talk:Bundesautobahn_38. --93.201.172.108 03:35, 20 December 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hoi HyperGaruda, niet zomaar controversiële wijzigingen doen. Ik ga je hernoeming van Category:Tweede Kamer terugdraaien, daarvoor hebben we {{Move}}, zie Commons:Rename a category. Multichill (talk) 09:58, 27 April 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Small info[edit]

Hi HyperGaruda, regarding this list, you can freely exclude or strike categories Nasir-ol-Molk Mosque, Vakil Mosque and Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque, because I fixed the problem i.e. every photo is categorized by both year and some other category like architectural element, decoration, and so on. My plan is to fix other mosques on the same way. Generally, I believe categorizing mosques by year is a fine idea if other categories are used, but categorizing only by year is truly a terrible idea (if you search some nice general photo, you must open tens of year-related cats). I hope you're satisfied with new organization. :) --Orijentolog (talk) 20:16, 4 July 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

P.S. When I say "every photo" I mean 100% photos of Nasir-ol-Molk Mosque and Vakil Mosque, and some 98-99% photos of Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque, I'll need to check the latter one more time. --Orijentolog (talk) 20:21, 4 July 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Wonderful job, Orijentolog! I share your concerns about only categorising by year and also believe that they should always be accompanied by a more meaningful/descriptive category. --HyperGaruda (talk) 09:06, 10 July 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Please don't mind, but IMHO it's better to describe adjacent building in infobox (Jameh Mosque of Shesh Nav & Shesh Nav Tekiyeh), instead of making tracks on top. That's the "rule" I've used for most sites, otherwise there would be a lot of see alsos for adjacent buildings, namesakes, similar shaped structures and so on. Other advantages of infobox is that it gives direction (North, South, etc) and also automatically translates all details for non-English speakers. By the way, I still didn't properly categorized all mosques as I promised, it takes a looot of time. :( --Orijentolog (talk) 00:00, 18 November 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Regarding your "objections" in this edits ([1][2][3]...), I want to explain you my idea:

My plan is to further separate those windows and decorations, by rooms and iwans, but little later. :) It's generally a tough job, it took me weeks just to solve Jameh Mosque of Yazd.

That is one of the reasons why I still did not passed all mosques as I promised you long ago. Other reason is that before editing any particular mosque, at first I open many professional websites and books to find reliable dates, dynastic periods, materials, dimensions, room names, etc. and insert them into Wikidata. If you open Agha Bozorg Mosque and Jameh Mosque of Yazd, you'll notice that all properties have references. The same is done for hundreds of other mosques, as well as other Iranian buildings, but unfortunately still not all (perhaps 10% is missing). I hope this year all will be completed. :) --Orijentolog (talk) 17:33, 15 April 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Orijentolog: oops, sorry, I was not aware of that. And that is very impressive what you did in Wikidata! --HyperGaruda (talk) 18:08, 15 April 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
No problem, it's technically not a mistake so it can stay as it is (until I categorize it deeper). Thanks, I'm also telling you that in the case if you plan to write some new article which has Commons and Wikidata item: just remember that no don't need to search sources, I done all (basic) fact-checking. Also, if you don't repeat everything I did for your Indonesia, I'll be highly disappointed! ;) --Orijentolog (talk) 18:15, 15 April 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Stained(-)glass windows[edit]

Bonjour HyperGaruda.

Père Igor (talk) 15:59, 24 February 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
