This file shows how heart rate is determined from an ECG.

Description
Français : La fréquence cardiaque correspondant à chaque battement peut être calculée (60 / durée en secondes du battement) et peut s’exprimer en battements / mn (bpm, BPM).

Le graphique de variabilité de la fréquence cardiaque en fonction du temps peut ensuite être tracé.

La durée des battements cardiaques (intervalle R-R en ms) est toujours variable dans le temps.Ainsi, la fréquence cardiaque varie en permanence : par exemple, au cours d’une respiration elle augmente (inspiration) puis diminue (expiration).

English: The heart rate corresponding to each beat can be calculated (60 / beat duration in seconds) and expressed in beats / min (bpm, BPM).

The graph of heart rate variability as a function of time can then be plotted.

The duration of heartbeats (R-R interval in ms) is always variable over time. So heart rate varies constantly: for example, during breathing, it increases (inhalation) then decreases (exhalation).
